Patterning Learning Goals

We have started our new unit on patterning! Here are our learning goals and tips for you to practise at home! There are also a couple of links to some online games. Thank you for your support in your child's learning.

Patterning
  • I can identify, extend, and create a repeating pattern involving two attributes
  • I can identify and describe number patterns on a number line, on a calendar, and on a hundreds chart
Look for patterns in your everyday life at home or when out doing errands (ex. Fences, wallpaper, when setting the table, in fabrics/materials, and when playing with toys). Have them describe what the attributes are (what changes in the pattern - ex. Size, colour, shape). Involve your child when adding events to calendars and when counting how many days until birthdays, holidays or special events.
